Orchestra Program Receives $1,500 in Supplies
During the 2015-16 school year, our chamber orchestra participated in a contest sponsored by D’Addario Strings – a legendary manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. The contest was to make a video of the ensemble performing the contemporary arrangements of Kishi Bashi. Our students (along with some very supportive teachers!) created a wonderful video and were selected as one of the winners of the concert. Kishi performed with the group at the spring concert.
One of the other benefits of this contest was that D’Addario would donate $1,500 of strings and supplies to the winning school’s orchestra program. You can see orchestra teacher Jess Labello’s lovely arrangement of these wonderful supplies in the photo at the top of this post.
We want to give a big note of thanks to all of the wonderful folks at D’Addario and for their support of music education.
